Creative Technologist and artistSzymon Kaliski is a Polish creative technologist, researcher, sound artist, and developer known for his multidisciplinary work blending software engineering, generative media, and experimental electronic sound design. Holding a Ph.D. in Computer Science and serving as a principal investigator at research labs like Ink & Switch, Kaliski explores human-computer interaction, programmable interfaces, and creative coding. His artistic practice examines the delicate interplay between technological systems, dynamic algorithms, physical interfaces, and acoustic environments, creating contemplative soundscapes and interactive installations.
Sleeping in the circular ruins is an artistic research project and presentation inspired by Jorge Luis Borges’ famous short story about creation, simulation, and nested realities. Presented at new media art conferences such as Technarte, the project explores how generative code and algorithmic structures can model concepts of endless recursion, synthetic memory, and digital creation. By treating programming code as an expressive artistic medium, Kaliski constructs dynamic computational systems that bridge literary themes, generative visuals, and sonic exploration.
