Stanza
ArtistStanza is a British artist whose practice encompasses digital art, installations, painting and software systems. His work explores urban environments, surveillance culture, privacy and alienation in the city. He transforms data and networked technologies into artworks that examine the relationship between people, technology and the urban landscape. His work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, Tate Britain and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
The Nemesis Machine is an evolving installation that connects urban spaces through data, using wireless sensor networks and environmental sensing technologies to create visualisations and sonifications of real-time environments. Conceived as a miniature, interconnected city, the work explores networked technologies, surveillance and data ownership. It presents a vision of an increasingly connected world in which human activity and urban environments become part of a wider system of monitoring and information exchange, raising questions about privacy, control and our relationship with technology.
