Patxi Araujo
Artist and proffesorPatxi Araujo (Pamplona, Spain, 1967) is an artist and professor at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), where he teaches in the Department of Art and Technology. His work explores the relationship between art, contemporary technology and human perception, combining visual arts, experimental animation, programming, robotics and interactive installations. He has developed projects involving immersive environments, generative systems and digital scenography, including La 3ª Ley de Clarke, Las lágrimas de Alicia and Soft_Wall. He holds a PhD in Fine Arts, awarded in 2007, and has also collaborated with the University of Caldas in Colombia.
Codex Contaminari, Humana Coded is an ongoing artistic research project that examines the idea of what it means to be human through the language and processes of programming, robotics, artificial life and simulation. It brings together bodies, perception and computational metaphors to explore the boundaries between the organic and the artificial. The project includes works such as TURBA, Uncanny Bihotz and Ehime Daruma, each approaching this inquiry through different forms of generative behaviour, synthetic life and the transformation of virtual processes into physical matter.
