Anabela Costa
Media ArtistAnabela Costa is a Portuguese media artist, researcher, and experimental filmmaker based in Paris. Graduating from the Lisbon Fine Arts University, her work focuses on moving images, digital experimentation, and non-narrative visual art. Since the early 2000s, Costa has developed an extensive practice at the intersection of fine art and computer science, collaborating with research institutions such as INRIA to explore how software algorithms and mathematical concepts can generate complex visual motion. Her experimental films and immersive media installations have been showcased globally at festivals and venues, including the International Symposium on Electronic Arts (ISEA) and various international digital art platforms.
Poetic Cosmicity is an experimental visual and media project that explores abstract representations of space, motion, and cosmic order. Utilizing digital animation techniques and generative media workflows, Costa transforms complex geometrical and mathematical patterns into dynamic, rhythmic visual structures. The piece contemplates the relationship between scientific abstractions and human perception, creating an immersive, fluid atmosphere where algorithmic forms mimic macro-cosmic movements and natural forces. By blending scientific concepts with artistic expression, the project presents a meditative, non-narrative visual journey through digital space.
