Ana Rajcevic
Artist, designer and researcherAna Rajčević is a Serbian artist, designer and researcher whose work explores the intersections of fashion, sculpture, art and technology. She studied Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Arts in Belgrade before completing a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture and a second Master’s in Fashion Artefact at the University of the Arts London. Her practice focuses on transforming and extending the human body through wearable sculptures, experimental materials and digital fabrication. Her best-known early project, Animal: The Other Side of Evolution (2012), features sculptural headpieces inspired by animal skeletons, including horns, tusks and spines. Her work has been exhibited at institutions such as the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. She has received several international awards, including the International Talent Support Project of the Year Award in 2012.
Ana Rajčević explores how 3D printing and emerging fabrication technologies can transform fashion and the design of wearable objects. Through the integration of digital modelling, experimental materials and sculptural techniques, she investigates new ways of creating complex forms that adapt to and extend the human body. Her work challenges conventional ideas of clothing and accessories, moving towards structures that function as wearable sculptures. Projects such as Animal: The Other Side of Evolution demonstrate this approach through body adornments inspired by animal anatomy, combining sculptural design with materials such as resin and fibreglass. These experiments point towards a future in which fashion becomes a space for exploring new relationships between the body, technology and material expression.
