Premyslaw Jasielski
ArtistPrzemysław Jasielski is a Polish media artist, sculptor, and researcher whose work examines the intersection of art, technology, and human behavior. Holding a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań, Jasielski designs custom kinetic sculptures, interactive electronic systems, and robotic devices that intentionally subvert technological efficiency and utilitarian logic. His artistic practice explores the concept of “nonsense technologies”—creating dysfunctional, absurd, or emotional machines that provoke critical reflection on human dependence on technology, automation, and the socio-political power structures embedded in digital systems.
Artificial Unintelligence. Stubborn Machines and Sneaky Robots. is a series of interactive kinetic installations and robotic sculptures that critically challenge the widespread idealization of artificial intelligence and automated efficiency. By building machines that exhibit deliberate stubbornness, unpredictability, and counter-intuitive behaviors, Jasielski exposes the inherent limitations, biases, and absurdity of computational logic. The project serves as an ironical critique of technological determinism, inviting audiences to reflect on machine agency, algorithmic error, and the absurd friction generated when humans attempt to fit complex social interactions into rigid technological schemes.
