Artist

Maria Yablonina is an architect, researcher and artist working at the intersection of computational design, robotics and digital fabrication. Her work focuses on developing custom robotic systems capable of constructing and adapting architectural structures, exploring new ways of designing and interacting with spaces. She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto.

Robot ecology: towards a multi-species fabrication process

The project explores how different types of robots can collaborate in architectural fabrication. Through the development of mobile robotic systems, Yablonina investigates how machines with distinct capabilities can work together to construct structures, drawing on the relationships between organisms and their environments to rethink conventional fabrication processes.
