Italian Limes investigates how climate change affects the Alpine border between Italy and neighbouring countries. As glaciers melt, the watershed that defines parts of the national boundary can shift, challenging the idea that borders are fixed. The project uses GPS sensors installed on a glacier to track these movements in real time, transmitting location data to an automated drawing device that produces a constantly changing map. Combining cartography, technology and research, the installation makes the effects of climate change visible while questioning how geographical boundaries are measured, represented and defined.
