Susana Ballesteros and Jano Montañés
ArtistsSusana Ballesteros and Jano Montañés are Spanish artists who founded OPN Studio in 2007. Their interdisciplinary practice explores the intersection of art, science and technology, combining electronics, robotics, audiovisual media, programming and interactive installations. Their work examines the human condition and social issues, including identity, mortality, social behaviour and the relationship between humans and technology. Their projects have been exhibited internationally at institutions and events such as ARCO Madrid, Ars Electronica, the Würth Museum and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts.
In this presentation, OPN Studio explores technology as a means of artistic expression and communication. Through electronics, robotics, video and interactive installations, Ballesteros and Montañés transform scientific and technological processes into experiences that encourage reflection and create a more direct dialogue between artworks and audiences. Their approach uses technology not merely as a tool, but as a medium for communicating ideas about human identity, society and our relationship with the world.
