Gabriele Dini
Media artistComing from a Media Art background, he obtained his BA in Multimedia Art in Carrara. Before moving to RCA in London, he spent a semester in Holland attending the ArtScience Interfaculty at the Royal Academy of Arts in Den Haag.
His practice explores the creative relationships between art and science, investigating at the intersections of collective behaviour and individual identity.
The project explores how everyday activities generate data that is analysed and monetised by companies, often without people fully understanding its value. Using the metaphor of bees producing honey, the artists created an artificial honeycomb that transforms datasets into a physical representation of this invisible process. In this analogy, the city becomes the honeycomb, its citizens are the bees, and their data is the honey, collected and made available in real time.
