A unique culinary experience

Bilbao’s gastronomy fuses Basque tradition with contemporary creativity. Undoubtedly, one of the highlights are the pintxos, small culinary masterpieces that adorn the counters of local bars. These delicious snacks are an artistic expression of Basque cuisine, with ingenious combinations of flavours and textures. From classics such as gilda, with anchovies, olives and chilli, to more innovative options incorporating fresh local ingredients, Bilbao’s pintxos are a delight to the palate.

Full of great beauty

29 golden-sand beaches, steep cliffs and natural spots constitute the coast of Bizkaia throughout 150 kilometres. Pure images such as San Juan de Gaztelugatxe and the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve, exceptional natural spaces and shelter for migratory birds.

We will also find some of the symbols of the territory on the coast, such as the hanging bridge, which was declared UNESCO World Heritage Site and Gernika, a great symbolic town due to the bombing in 1937 that was depicted in the famous painting by Picasso.
